Review: Dreams – Gabrielle Aplin & Bastille

Scroll down to content

Gabrielle Aplin has recently exploded onto the scene, her mixture of poetic lyrics and acoustic melodies, her songs are a cross between popcorn folk and early Joni Mitchell, a mixture that has taken the 20 year old singer from tiny venues in Bath, to sell out shows all over the country and to an amazing collaboration with fellow break out artist Bastille.

The two artists have combined to record a cover of the Fleetwood Mac hit song Dreams, with Aplin’s vocals fitting perfectly with Bastille’s melodramatic electronic overtone, creating a song that can only be described as hauntingly beautiful.
