News: Upcoming Gigs

Even though I guess I am more of a hybrid genre blogger than any one subject, but one of things I write about is music and what kind of music blogger wouldn’t haven’t have a full schedule of gigs to go too and all covering different genres, so before Christmas I booked a few gigs to cover the first half of the year, keeping me busy and also giving me something to review.

1. Chvches

CHVRCHES-3Chvches are band that I discovered at the end of 2013 and that I’m fully predicting to be massive in 2014, their songs are a wonderful combination of indie electro and soulful lyrics, combining to create a a début album that has been on repeat in my car for two months now, their gig in Birmingham is going to be a great way to start the year and I shall be singing alont to every word of Gun.

2. We Are Scientists

We-Are-Scientists-band-1200x797The same week that I see Chvches, I am also seeing the New York indie rock band We Are Scientist, a group that I have wanted to see ever since seeing Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist and hearing After Hours, so on a whim I decided to check that their gig wasn’t sold out, luckily/surprisingly enough there were a few left and now I shall be seeing a band that unfortunately I missed when they were opening up a HMV when I was at uni in High Wycombe (dates me a little given the companies fortunes lately, but ah well).

3. Saint Raymond

Saint RaymondCallum Burrows has bust onto the scene recently, going by the moniker Saint Raymond, his songs like Young Blood and Fall at Your Feet have a synth pop rock feel and fits nicely in a gap between Jake Bugg and Bastille, but with a bit more edge and not bad for an artist that is still only at the tender age of 18.

4. La Femme

lafemme (1)A trip to London in June is just what’s needed, especially when I am travelling down to a the Parisian indie clique band La Femme, a band which I last saw supporting Maximo Park in Manchester back in 2012, they are simply too cool to describe (it must be a French thing) so it will be cool to see how they have developed over the last two years and also visit a new venue in the process.

So as you can see, I have a pretty busy few months coming up and I’m currently in the process of sorting out my Summer schedule, so why not keep up to date  all the gigs and festivals that I intend to visit on my events section and If you are also going to see any of these artists, why not send me a tweet, it’s always good to meet a fellow good music fan.
