The Quiet Ones

The Quiet Ones is the latest film to come out of the Hammer Horror studios, centring around a university experiment into whether it is possible to create a poltergeist, with the situation getting out of hand, then experiment becomes a fight for survival form an unknown force that terrorizes the students, this looks like it is going to be the big horror of the year.

Haunted house horror movies are ten a penny, but this film about introverted teen bonding with a neighbour as they investigate the house that has a history of death and hauntings, looks like it manages to inject something new into a crowded subgenre, meaning that I am quite excited about seeing how they have managed it.

300: Rise of an Empire

As a sequel to the 2007 film 300, Rise of an Empire takes place before, during and after the first movie, depicting the battle between the Greek city states and the Persian Empire, sticking with the highly stylized film making technique that made the first one so influential, I loved the first one, so more of that can’t be bad.

After the 1998 movie failed to spawn the franchise it was hoped, a Godzilla reboot was always on the cards, with 2014 finally bringing the legendary monster back to the American shores, with destruction and mayhem not long afterwards, the trailer looks great and who doesn’t love a good disaster movie, even better when it starts a giant lizard.

Staring: Bryan Cranston, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen

Release date: May 16th/ July 25th


If you hate flying, planes are a pretty scary place to be, what makes it even worse is an unknown force that is hurting and killing people mid flight, that is exactly what is depicted in this upcoming horror film, lets hope they release it in time for the summer holidays, just as everyone jets off abroad for their week in the sun.
