It’s been a mixed week for Foxes.
After ill health caused her to rearrange three dates on her 2014 UK tour, Foxes (real name Louisa Rose Allen) looked like she was going to have a pretty depressing week, but it’s not all bad for the Southampton born singer songwriter, as her latest single “Let Go For Tonight”, has just gone straight into the UK charts at number 7, beating her previous best chart appearance of 12th with her début single “Youth”, which came out way back in September 2013.
Unlike the version that appeared on her 2012 EP “Warrior”, adopting a more synth-pop feeling, replacing the atmospheric piano backing with a more up tempo electro, polishing her vocals and giving the entire song something of an updating, which has produced a song that now feels a lot more fun, that now is more appropriate to the song’s message of being free, cutting loose and doing what you want. “Let Go For Tonight” is a feel good song to start off what is usually a depressing month …..in the UK that is.
