Recently I had the chance to visit Chester, one of the most beautiful and surprising cities in the North of the UK, with interesting activities to see and do at practically every turn, this has to be a place you visit at least once in your life.
Go wild at Chester Zoo
Short of hopping on around the world holiday, the only chance you have of seeing the weird and wonderful animals the world has to off is at a zoo, luckily for you Chester Zoo has everything from lions to tigers, elephants to monkeys and everything in between, boasting over 440 species over 400 acres, this zoo is one of the biggest in the UK and Forbes recently named it as one of the best fifteen zoos in the World.
Spoil yourself rotten at Cheshire Oaks
Located just off the M53, near to both Chester and Ellesmere Port, Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet has over 145 stores to choose from, growing over the last 20 years to become the largest outlet center in the UK, hosting some of the most exclusive brands around, from Polo Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein to Nike and Burberry, usually sold at discounted prices, this is the place to go if you are serious about your retail therapy.
Surround yourself in history in the city centre
Founded by the Romans as a fort in AD 79, Chester has a rich and interesting history that has made its city centre a wonderful place to explore, from the Roman walls that surround the city, the Eastgate Clock second most photographed timepiece in the UK after Big Ben and double-decker shopping thanks to the famous Chester Rows, all of these unique features make the city centre a joy to walk around.
Escape it all at the Cathedral
Dating right back the days of the Roman empire and sitting right in the middle of the city center, the Gothic Chester Cathedral towers above the rest of the city and provides you with the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life or just to explore one of the most visually stimulating locations in the city.
