It’s not often that I get to talk about a Salopian musician
If you remember back 2014, I wrote about female trio Not Completely Blonde and how few musical prodigies the county of Shropshire has produced, in fact, it’s taken two years for me to discover another artist to get excited about. Miller Blue.
Miller Blue, real name Benjamin Joseph Edwards, switches from electronica to soul to R&B, effortlessly producing a back catalogue of covers and original works that make you appreciate his artistry.
Listening to his latest EP ‘Persistence’, you can’t help but feel that Miller Blue is a singer wise beyond his years, where his soulfully deep voice shifts freely from haunting melodies to intricate rapping throughout most of his tracks, reminding me very much in the style of a young Ed Sheran or Lauryn Hill, not bad for someone that writes and produces all his own music.
